About The Graphics Boat
We have been making boat name stickers since 2007 when we bought our first boat. Since then, The Graphics Boat has become one of the UK's most popular suppliers of custom vinyl boat lettering and marine decals.
With our easy-to-use online designer you can pick from over 150 fonts, 30+ colours including glitter and chrome, and add outlines, shadows and arc effects - then see exactly how your boat name stickers will look before you order. Our vinyl boat lettering is suitable for Narrowboats, Yachts, Cruisers, Canal Boats, Kayaks, Fishing Boats, Commercial Vessels, Rowing Boats, tenders and most marine applications. If you need help with a Hypalon RIB tube or a custom boat name design, contact us.
About the vinyl material we use
We make our waterproof boat name stickers from premium-grade marine-safe vinyl manufactured in the EU. As boaters ourselves, we want our decals to last. We don't use monomeric or low-grade vinyl - if it's cheaper elsewhere, there's usually a reason. Our vinyl boat decals are rated 7-10 years under normal UV exposure. Shadowed or multi-colour designs are pre-layered by us, so you don't have to align two separate pieces on the hull.
What surfaces will boat name stickers stick to?
Our vinyl boat name stickers adhere to most clean, smooth surfaces: fibreglass, painted or varnished steel, aluminium and painted wood. They work on narrowboat hulls, yacht topsides, motorboat hulls and most cruiser bodywork. Standard vinyl will not bond to Hypalon (the rubberised fabric used on RIB tubes) - contact us before ordering if you have a Hypalon surface and we'll advise on the right product.
Using the Lettering Designer
Step 1 - Enter your boat name. The letter count updates as you type.
Step 2 - Choose your letter height, from 30mm up to 500mm. Not sure what size you need? See our Letter & Height Guide. If you choose white lettering the preview won't show up against the white background - use the Background Colour selector underneath the height dropdown to preview against a hull colour. These background colours are for illustration only and won't be supplied.
Step 3 - Choose your font. Browse through the over 150 fonts using the four categories . Some fonts display lowercase letters as capitals - check the preview carefully before ordering.
Step 4 - Choose your colour, then add any effects: outline, block shadow, gap shadow, arcs, wave top/bottom, bulge and more. To move the shadow position use the 8-point box on the right.
Please check your preview carefully before ordering as your boat name decals will be cut exactly as shown.
Custom designs or your own artwork
If you need a font that isn't in our designer, a two-line layout, a logo alongside your name, or a fully custom boat name design, we can help. Send us an EPS, PDF or other vector file and we'll take a look. We can also pre-layout and space lettering on two lines, subject to approval. Get in touch with the details.

Q&A
Should I order Wave top or Wave bottom?
If you are ordering these effects for both sides of the boat, order one wave top and one wave bottom so the lettering starts and ends at the same height on each side.
Do you supply boat name stickers in the UK only?
No - we do ship worldwide however please note that this can change due to the changing EU regulations landscape, check the delivery page for the latest information
If I order two boat names, do you reverse one for the opposite side?
You don't reverse the text - boat names read the same way on both sides of the hull. The only exception is shaped effects: if you order a Wave-Top effect, order one Wave-Top and one Wave-Bottom so the lettering lines up on each side.

Do 2-colour (shadowed) graphics come in two layers?
Unlike most suppliers, we pre-layer shadowed graphics so you don't have to align two separate pieces yourself.
I've just painted my boat - how long before I can fit them?
We recommend waiting a minimum of 30 days for paint to fully cure before applying vinyl boat name stickers.
How long will my boat name stickers last?
Our vinyl boat lettering is supplied in premium-grade 7-10 year marine vinyl. We don't use monomeric or low-grade vinyl. Actual lifespan depends on UV exposure, colour choice and installation quality. Cleaning the surface of all wax and grease before fitting is important. Material data sheets are available on request.
